Organisations
In October of 2017, the Commision launched the European Battery Alliance (coordinated by EIT InnoEnergy) to connect stakeholders of the LIB value chain in Europe. EBA brings together more than 400 actors, from mining to recycling, and coordinates 11 industrial projects with a total investment of more than €5.0 bn through its Business Investment Platform (BIP). Moreover, there are numerous research and innovation projects covering the entire LIB value chain, conducted under one of the following ecosystems: Batteries Europe 2019, Battery 2030+, Bat-Circle.
Additionally, each stakeholder type’s interests are represented by one or more national and Europe-wide trade associations, e.g. Global Battery Alliance, RECHARGE, Cobalt Institute, Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (Eurobat), European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), European Association for Storage of Energy, Eucobat (national collection schemes for batteries) and European Battery Recycling Association.
